Marine Cables
 
   
Shipboard cables are used for power, control, instrumentation and communication systems onboard seagoing vessels. These cables have been approved by engineering standards societies such as NK (Japan), LR (United Kingdom), BV (France), ABS (USA), DNV (Norway), GL (Germany), KR (Korea), RINA (Italy), and CR (Taiwan). LS Cable&System has obtained UL and ETL certification for these cables.
 
 
 Types
- JIS C 3410: This cable conforms to Japanese industrial specifications and is the most common in Korea and Japan.
- IEC SHF1: This is a thermoplastic halogen-free cable that conforms to IEC standards. This environmentally friendly product does not contain any toxic chemicals that are harmful to the human body or environment.
- DIN 89158-89160: This is a high-strength EPR-insulated cable that conforms to DIN specifications. This product is categorized as a highly flexible CR sheathed cable that does not contain any toxic chemicals.
- IEEE 1580 E/X: This is a cable for ships that conforms to the IEEE, a U.S. standard. The insulation of the TYPE E cable is ERP, and that of the TYPE X cable is XLPE.
 
 
Off-shore Cables
 
Off-shore cables are used for power, control, instrumentation and communication systems onboard various special ships such as LNG tankers and in maritime devices such as FPSO. These cables have been approved by such engineering standards societies as LR (United Kingdom), BV (France), ABS (USA), DNV (Norway), and GL (Germany). LS Cable has obtained UL, ETL and GOST (Russia) certifications for these cables.
 
 
 Types
- AS 4193: This cable conforms to the Australian standard and is a representative product manufactured in a gas-tight construction. Since a thermo-set halogen-free sheath is applied for the ERP insulation, this product is appropriate for FPSO.
- JIS HF: This thermo-set, halogen-free cable conforms to the basic IEC standard. Since the product name is similar to the name of cables for JIS ships, it can be easily identified. This product is appropriate for LNG applications.
-NEK 606: This cable conforms to the Norwegian specification and is MUD-proof.
-BS 6883/7917: This cable conforms to the British standard and is sheathed by using special non-toxic and oil-resistant materials.
- IEEE 1580 P: This cable conforms to the IEEE, which is a U.S. standard. Flexible conductors are used for the TYPE P cable. Since the XLPO insulation is sheathed using very flexible PCP materials, this cable is very soft, easily installed, and flexible.
- IEEE 1580 LSE/LSX: This halogen-free cable conforms to the IEEE standard.
 
 
Cables for Military Vessels
 
Cables for military vessels are used for power, control, instrumentation and communication systems onboard warships such as transport ships, destroyers and submarines.
These cables have been recognized by the shipping bureau of Korea, which is KR. LS Cable&System has obtained KETI certification and has been approved by the Korean Navy. This cable has been applied for U.S. NAVSEA certification.
 
 
 Types
- MIL-DTL-24643B: This cable conforms to U.S. Navy Mil-Spec standards and is categorized as either water-proof or non-waterproof. This product is highly abrasion-proof.
- MIL-DTL-24640B: This cable conforms to U.S. Navy Mil-Spec standards and is much lighter than 24643B. This product is categorized as either water-proof or non-waterproof and is easy to install since it is light and flexible
- VG 95218: This cable is highly flame-retardant, halogen-free and oil-proof.
 
 
Rolling Stock Cables
 
Cables for heavy rail vehicles are non-toxic, halogen-free, and conform to the NFF, which is a standard of France. This product is used for power, control, instrumentation and communication systems onboard various rail vehicles such as trams, subway cars and high-speed electric trains. It can also be used for signal transmission systems for railroads and for the interior electrical systems of rail control offices and station buildings. Also, LS Cable&System has obtained the British Wellington certification for these cables and has delivered the cables for the KTX, the Korean high-speed electric express train. The performance and quality of these LS Cable&System products have been recognized internationally.
 
 
Wind Power Cable
 
Wind power generation cables connect the primary generator motor in the turbine nacelle with the transformers and relay the electricity produced to the power grid. The cables must be highly flexible so that they are not damaged even if the generators rotate thousands of cycles.
The flexibility of the wind power generator cables developed by LS Cable&System has been improved greatly in comparison with competitors'''''''' products. The cables have all passed 15,000 cycle rotation tests to qualify for the requirements of the European wind generation industry, which demand a high durability of 10,000 rotation cycles for more than 20 years.

Nuclear Power Plant Cables
 

Nuclear power plant cables are specially designed for nuclear power plants. Class 1E cables are used in applications where safety is of prime concern. They are installed for mission-critical safety systems that are vital for maintaining safe operation of nuclear facilities and designed to withstand failure as a result of a catastrophic nuclear accident. Non-Class 1E cables are typically used for turbine facilities and switchyards in applications where safety is not a prime concern.
